BAUKUNST #2

EXTENDED until April, 4th 2024
———————————————

Galerie Borchardt + BAID
Hopfensack 19
D-20457 Hamburg
+49-40-388 988

In the exhibition, which will be shown from May to September in the joint spaces of Galerie Borchardt and the architecture firm BAID, we take a look at artists who draw on architectural set pieces in their work and alienate them to the point of irritation, with enigmatic lightness and an occasional wink.

With Clemens Behr, Anina Brisolla, Julia Eichler, Jay Gard, Katharine Harvey, Stohead, Trak Wendisch and Various&Gould.

Skulpturen-Triennale Bingen

HIER UND JETZT - 6. Mai bis 8. Oktober 2023

Once again, the two curators Lutz Driever and André Odier have succeeded in bringing together around 20 artistic positions that approach current issues relating to this year’s exhibition theme HERE AND NOW in different ways.

The sculptures and installations of the national and international artists illuminate topics such as the handling of resources, the consequences of climate change and the challenges in the macrocosm of a globalized world order. They also deal with everyday questions of social justice and social coexistence in local structures, as well as the family as a microcosm.

Words & Things – Gregor Hildebrandt, Anina Brisolla, Brad Downey

invited by Jan Kage for Berlin-LA Connect - Libertine Gallery, Los Angeles

LIBERTINE presents “Words & Things” in conjunction with Schau Fenster and Kanya & Kage as part of the Berlin-LA Connect art festival.
Are words things? Can a thing communicate? Is the art of objects a common language that transcends differences – for example between English and German. As children we are inserted into the everyday assumption of the words of the Other. But an object is a way of inserting our own fantasy of the other. While not clear, an object may transcend the limitations of language, conjuring up new ideas and expressions. Yet finally the “writing” itself of the object appends the discourse of human institutions.

Opening July, 7th 6-9pm
Running until July, 17th

Scenes of Displacement

opening May, 10th at Gallery R+ in Szczecin, Poland

pocztowka-ok-ok-1_kl

With works by Ronnie Karfiol, Anina Brisolla, Ariel Reichman, Nezaket Ekici and Shahar Marcus, Noga Shtainer, Alona Harpaz, Elad Farber and Julia Bulik

Opening: 10.05.2017, 18:30h
Duration: 10.-27.05.2017

Gallery R+ / Art Academy of Szczecin / Plac Orła Białego 2, 70-001 Szczecin

“Scenes of Displacement” brings together artistic projects by a group of international artists who address the issue of migration across different states, from first-hand experiences to the echoes of family histories and the plight of others, whose stories reach us by the media. Mostly based in Berlin, the artists whose works are presented here are touched by such stories personally. Whether directly or indirectly, a dynamic of displacements seems to reappears in their bodies of work time an again as an existential state of indetermination, an elusiveness that lends itself easily to artistic experimentation and fluidity, but not necessarily to words.

Curator of the exhibition: Alona Harpaz, Curator of the R + Gallery: Marta Dziomdziora

Tech Open Air – UNCONFERENCE

This Thursday, July 16th at 12:30pm

I will attend a talk on Art & Technology at TOA15
this Thursday, July 16th at 12:30pm @ Base 2.1

Gottes Kante

Art and technology not only share the same basic questions sometimes – in ancient Greek days they also shared the same name: τέχνη / technē, meaning the work of art itself but also the means of its production. The main difference between art and technology? Art does not have to serve a purpose while technology has a function. Jan Kage talks with the three exhibiting artists Brisolla, Bartsch and Vert to learn about their take on technology.

Participants:
Anina Brisolla, Viron Erol Vert and Malte Bartsch
Moderator: Jan Kage

WORK
ABOUT
Anina Brisolla is a visual artist based in Berlin and the Oderbruch. Described as digital painting and collage, her work transcends the various media she works in - from video to installation - to question the visual language of established institutions. She reflects upon topics as privatization and power structures within the ties that men, nature and space form.
Anina Brisolla studied visual arts in the Netherlands and at the School of Visual Arts in New York. She recently had solo shows at KanyaKage, SMAC und Blake & Vargas in Berlin and took part in group exhibitions at the Skulpturentriennale Bingen, the Yuan Art Museum, Chongqing, China, Neuer Kunstverein Aschaffenburg, the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow and at Kunsthalle Exnergasse in Vienna among others.
